I have created the site the way that I want to, using wordpress but am not able to remove the reply to areas, as if it were a blog, on the site. Do you know how to remove that?

In WordPress administration, go to Settings > Discussion, and uncheck “Allow people to post comments on new articles “.
This will remove the comment areas for new posts.
To remove the comment area for existing posts, edit each post and uncheck “Allow comments” towards the bottom.
Depending on your design, you may want to create pages instead of posts. Pages are for static content and do not allow comments.

I have installed WordPress onto my computer and the new local database all set up, and imported the original blog’s XML file from WP into MAMP– but it didn’t xfer the template. How do I import my blog and domain as is, to the new database?

Answer by Japh If you have an existing WordPress site on a server and are trying to install the theme from that site to a new local installation, you should be able to log into your existing server with an FTP program (such as FileZilla) and download the theme to your new installation.
You will find the theme somewhere similar to: ~/public_html/wp-content/themes//
Though that path will vary depending on your server.
If it is a freely available theme from the WordPress theme directory, then it should be even easier to simply obtain the theme again. Just log into your new WordPress admin, and under the “Appearance” menu, there’s a “Themes” menu, and you can search for themes and install them that way.

Answer by PoorOne 1). Back up your theme files by copying it, or download it to your pc.
2). Open up index.php, single.php, page.php files
3. Delete everywhere where it says: this will make sidebars disappear from your site.
It’s possible that the files names are different since there are tons of different theme out there.

Answer by Web Programmer You could take the rss feed from your wordpress site and add code on your html site to display the rss feed.
Google something like “add rss feed to web page” to get specifics of how to accomplish this.
